Reasons for Applications Rejection:

Dr. Mao violated the Somaliland health regulatory Act 19/2001, particularly article 26 based on the following points:

Dr. Mao was incapable of providing an official good standing latter (as required by the commission) from the medical registration council from country of origin, in this case UK.
He has claimed specializations on several fields without having any.
According to the minister of health’s letter issued to Dr. Mao on Feb 24th, 2014 indicates that he is specialized in OB/GYN, which is a misinformation to H.E. Somaliland Minister of Health.

2. Stephan Wangombe Ndungu

Alleged Primary Medical Qualifications: MBBS

Reasons for Applications Rejection:

Dr. Ndungu didn’t fulfill the fallowing NHPC requirements for foreign health professionals to be eligible to practice in Somaliland.

All foreign health professionals with basic medical qualifications are not eligible to practice in Somaliland unless otherwise they have obtained a medical specializations that fulfills the requirements set by the commission (i.e. 5 years expertise in the obtained specialization)
Dr. Ndungu failed to provide verifications for his qualifications from concerned parties of country of origin (Namely University and Medical Council)
Dr. Ndungu failed to provide official good standing certificate from the country of origin.

3. John Simiyu Masiga

Reasons for Applications Rejection:

Dr. Masiga didn’t fulfill the fallowing NHPC requirements for foreign health professionals to be eligible to practice in Somaliland.

All foreign health professionals with basic medical qualifications are not eligible to practice in Somaliland unless otherwise they have obtained a medical specializations that fulfills the requirements set by the commission.

He is not eligible to register and practice as a doctor since his undergraduate and postgraduate medical qualifications are allegedly attained from unverifiable online source, thus not fulfilling the requirements for medical education.

He deliberately ignored NHPC’s notifications that he is not qualified to practice as a neurologist by treating patients as a neurologist, this is considered gross malpractice.
